Awaji Art Circus 2024 Summer Program

In 2024, in addition to the Autumn Program, we also conducted a Summer Program. During the Summer Program, we organized school performances, participated in events across Awaji Island, and held a special collaboration with the Sōkai Junior and Senior High School Jazz Band. These activities brought even more excitement to the already vibrant summer atmosphere of Awaji Island and delivered countless smiles to our audience.

As part of the Summer Program’s school visits, we not only showcased performances but also conducted workshops led by the artists. After enjoying professional performances, the students had the opportunity to try out some of the techniques themselves, creating a memorable and enriching experience.

Collaboration with Sōkai Junior and Senior High School Jazz Band

For the first time since 2019, we have realized the long-awaited collaboration performance with Sōkai Junior and Senior High School Jazz Band. Leading up to the performance, members of the jazz band and Awaji Art Circus artists held several rehearsals, carefully harmonizing music and movement. During the first rehearsal, the jazz band members appeared a bit nervous about working with new collaborators, but by the second rehearsal, they had warmed up to each other, and the music and performance began to shine even more. With each rehearsal, the team's bond deepened, resulting in a wonderful finished product.

The performance on August 4th, at the Awaji Island Festival stage, spread smiles and emotions throughout the venue, accompanied by loud cheers and applause. Additionally, this collaborative performance was showcased again at the Art Circus special event 'Music Trip in Awaji' on October 6th. Dynamic movements of the artists, synchronized with music, and amazing performance of the jazz band beautifully merged, creating a moment of unity with the audience. Surrounded by many smiles and warm applause, everyone truly enjoyed this special experience.
